The Shore brooch/lapel pin is an exploration of natural form and texture found along the seashore, aswell as a development of Clara's 20-year interest in sculpted silver hollow forms and spontaneous design development through pleating, folding and hand manipulation.
Clara's interest extends in particular to the empty spaces defined by the metal - the in-between spaces, the unseen becoming seen; the brooch becomes a frame for the cloth it is pinned to, and its wearer. With this one-of-a-kind brooch, a bold sense of presence, joyful growth and vitality emerge.
